If what MadonnaTribe is reporting is accurate, then, indeed. :)

I'm going to wait until WB officially announces everything before blogging about it.

I understand why you left off "Erotica", but I still think it deserves more recognition!

Oh well, this is a non-issue now since the album, now called Celebration, is a double-album that also includes two new tracks, "Celebrate" and "Revolver"! :)

Axon, when I wrote "one-time warbler," I wasn't referring to the number of Bond themese she had sung, just that at one time she was a Bond-theme singer.

I like "Die Another Day"- it's not a conventional Bond track, and it's a mantra for Madonna.

If you don't mind me asking, do you enjoy any of Madonna's music? Hopefully you're not just slamming the track because it's Madonna and you're not a fan in any way. :)

Madonna's "Die Another Day" was the biggest piece of shit for a "Bond theme" ever heard. And, actually, Shirley Bassey was "three time Bond warbler" not one: Goldfinger, Diamonds Are Forever and Moonraker - all far better Bond themes than that pitiful Madonna crap.

Hey, Eduardo. I stated why I 'd leave "Erotica" off a single-disc tracklisting. It really was an extension of "Justify My Love" (the spoken-lyrics approach), and "Justify" had a bigger impact, and paved the way for the whole Sex/Erotica era, IMO. So, I would leave "Erotica" off, to avoid having two similar tracks tackedo nto a single-disc compilation.

Of course, "Erotica" unquestionably should appear on a two-disc set.

Hi, Angelo. I had "Erotica" on there in the initial tracklisting. But, considering all factors (the video impact/cultural impact), I went with "Justify My Love"- neither are recurrent airplay hits, though "Justify" received more acclaim and obviously had the greater impact. And, they're too stylistically similar to be on a single-disc compilation, me thinks. Hence, excluding "Erotica."

"Deeper and Deeper" and "'Rain" are fine tracks, but they're not really classics and also get little to no recurrent play. I opted for "Die Another Day" because, like I said, it's almost a motto/mantra for Madge's career. Even though it also receives little to no recurrent play, it just sums up Madonna very well.

Of the tracks you mentioned, "Secret" gets the most recurrent airplay- but, it's kinda a low-key track, and doesn't scream ESSENTIAL, when looking at a lot of the other tracks. Bedtime Stories is represented by "Take a Bow," so "Secret" gets shafted. hehe However, definitely would be on a double disc, along with some other omissions.

Now, do I personally think "4 Minutes" is essential? No. I don't find it to be one of her bestter tracks- but, it's fresh, and it gave M her biggest airplay hit since "Die Another Day"- and, not much arguing with nearly 2.5 million digital singles sold.

Like most, I prefer a double-disc release, and hopefully Warner will, as well. Madonna has too many notabletracks to have one disc represent her best over 25 years.

Nothing from Erotica? What about the title track, Deeper and Deeper, Rain? How about Secret? I'm surprised you opted for Die Another Day over some of those classic M tunes.
